  43. True. The mother board did not have terminating rsistors installed when 
  44. delivered. It didn't seem to affect performance in any noticeable way.
  45. Do you recommend terminating resistors on the mother board?

  47. The source of my problems actually lay in the orientation of one of the 
  48. reisitor packs on the end Maxtor drive. It was reversed! I had removed the 
  49. packs from the intermediate drive ok, but then swapped drives and packs. In 
  50. doing so I must have reversed one of the packs.

  52. Two years of odd read errors and warming up the drives with a hair drier in 
  53. winter are now behind me thanks to this newsgroup. Thanks guys!!!
